During the recent “Self-reflection” campaign, we all had to rethink our priorities in life. This means that each individual must constantly adapt and get used to new habits and lifestyles. However, starting to shape and change the things that we have always done every day is not an easy task, especially at the very beginning of the phase. So how can we overcome that obstacle and develop ourselves day by day? Let's try to find the answer with TEDxHANU in today's post!

1. Take a good care of yourself
The modern and busy lifestyle constantly causes youngsters to neglect their health. We tend to put all of our energy into completing our tasks. As a result, we forget to take care of ourselves without realizing that mental strength is the core foundation for everything we do, from our emotions, health to concentration and productivity.
When too many changes happen at once, taking care of yourself is more important than ever. In addition to eating healthy and getting enough sleep, journaling, meditating every morning, or exercising would be some great ways to try out. Through these activities, you not only improve your health, both physically and mentally but also have more time to yourself.

2. Don’t make too many changes to your daily schedule
Most people at the beginning of the "Adaptation" process will try to do the most novel things, with the desire to change themselves as soon as possible. However, this actually works the opposite way as what they think. In fact, it is recommended to keep your routine the same, such as getting up at 8 a.m., brushing your teeth, washing your face, eating breakfast, and going to work or school. These habits seem small, but they help remind us that things still stay the same way as before, which helps to calm our minds. Not only that, but these unconscious activities also help us focus more on tasks that require brainwork.
In case you want to make a change, the best advice is to start step by step. If your goal is to get up earlier, don't suddenly force our bodies to wake up at 5 a.m instead of 8 a.m as usual. Gradually increasing the gap by 30 minutes every 2 weeks will be a more effective and long-lasting approach.

3. Build a personal plan
When accepting to give up an important thing in life, although we achieve a sense of serenity, we inevitably feel lonely, lost and don't know where to begin. Try sitting down, taking your time, and creating a blueprint for yourself. It can be a combination of personal and work tasks or whatever you want to accomplish. Once you have your list, you can prioritize and set goals that need to be achieved.
The moment your brain has figured out what to do for the rest of the day, you will have more control over your life. That way you can spend more time with yourself and the ones you love.
That's the story of TEDxHANU, now it's your turn. Going through the process of "Self-reflection", identifying what you need to let go of, are you ready to continue to take further steps? Don't hesitate to share your experiences with us!
