ABOUT US
TED is a convergence of Technology, Entertainment and Design. This concept was established in 1984 and became an annual scientific conference in 1990. If the predecessor TED targets global citizens, the successor TEDx reaches organisations and individuals on a local scale. Therefore, each TEDx program captures a distinct and unique heritage of its the the local venue, organisation and individual. Through succinct speeches (under 18 minutes), the motto “Ideas worth spreading” is passing on and bringing pronounced values all over places in the world.





Honoured to be endorsed by Hanoi University - a long-established school with the most diverse language and culture in North Vietnam, TEDxHANU has a mission to conduct Creative, Inspiring and Compassionate workshops for all students in Hanoi.
Core values
The project TEDxHANU is organised under the permission of a non-profit organisation - TED, and is endorsed by Hanoi University (HANU). All activities of TEDxHANU aim to bring the ideology and values of TED to HANU’s students in specific and youngsters working and studying at Hanoi in general.
At TEDxHANU, each speech and speaker represent a specific field, demonstrating a multidimensional perspective on the project’s annual topic
Carrying the mission to enhance society’s awareness, all TEDxHANU’s activities are non-profit and non-partisan.
Rooting from the ideology “Ideas worth spreading”, all ideas deserve to be considered and discussed liberally. Therefore, TEDxHANU does not agree with social prejudices to observe the ideas and opinions in the most neutral perspective.
Visionary
TEDxHANU develops as an annual project endorsed by Hanoi University; delivers a safe public sphere where the youngsters can meet and share their inspiring ideas in enhancing the social values and identity.
Mission
Inspired by the ideology “Ideas worth spreading”, TEDxHANU’s mission is distributing ideas from various fields and speakers’ complex perspectives to enhance society’s awareness. As TED, we hold a firm belief in the capability and values of ideas that can change our awareness, attitude and knowledge, which eventually accomplish the highest mission - change the world.
