Throughout the history of the Vietnamese people, National Solidarity has always been a prerequisite for every victory in defense of the countryās Independence and Freedom. When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, that strength of Solidarity shined once again, with a fierce spirit - āBeating the pandemic like beating invadersā.
In early January 2021, the Lowy Institute (Australia) published a ranking of the effectiveness of disease control, 36 weeks after the 100th infection in 98 different countries. Vietnam occupies second place with an index of 90.8 on a 100-point scale, just behind New Zealand (94.4). Meanwhile, in Europe and other developed countries in the world, the index is relatively low such as the US (17.3), France (34.9), and the UK (37.5).
By the end of 2020, on average, Ecom Med sold 40,000 - 60,000 boxes of medical masks per day, rejecting the Western viewpoint that āHealthy people donāt need masksā. Instead of taking the āFluā lightly as worldwide, Vietnam has drastically implemented social distancing from a very early period to limit the risk of infection in the community. Thanks to that urgency, Vietnam has become one of the brightest spots to attract investment in the epidemic context.
Not only the Vietnamese government but also businesses, organizations, and individuals have joined in the fight with COVID-19. Aside from the economic support, donations to the Vaccine fund, protective gear, and ventilators have been sent to the medical sector as the most sincere encouragement. Along with that, there have been many campaigns to rescue Vietnamese agriculture and create products that appeal to a worldwide reach, such as Dragon Fruit Bread and Watermelon Noodles.
The timeless spirit of Solidarity is a proud Community Identity for the Vietnamese people. When individuals accept to put aside their egos for the greater good of society, thatās when the community identity is outstanding than ever. At present, the whole society is facing a stressful epidemic situation; however, Vietnam will soon overcome and gradually assert its position in the international arena in Globalization.
Many individuals with common ideals create a strong community. To do so, each individual must be aware of his/her role, valuesāā, and social responsibility. However, the process of determining personal value and shaping its color has never been easy. How does an Individual shape his or her own Identity? Look forward to the following posts in šššš±šššš ššššās āIdentity Crisisā series!
